Speakers, sponsors, and participation
Over the past week, we’ve learned that many members of our community won the WWDC ticket lottery and many did not. Whether or not you’re one of the lucky ticket-holders, we welcome everyone to AltConf at the Metreon, just across the street from Moscone. What better place to be than in the heart of all the Apple-related activity during the week of June 8-12?

While AltConf is free to attend, we also offer Hero Supporter tickets, available at $300 each. These special tickets grant you guaranteed entry into all talk sessions with reserved seating in two of our theaters. Hero Supporters also receive a special swag bag while having the satisfaction of supporting a volunteer-driven event. The traditional free tickets provide for first-come, first-serve seating in both talk theaters as well as the Viewing Room presented by Release Notes, live streaming sessions from WWDC straight to you.

To encourage as many diverse attendees as possible, guaranteed entry tickets will be given away to community groups and individuals that wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to attend. If you plan to be in San Francisco and you’d like to be considered for one of these tickets, please fill in the form here.

In addition to the fine speakers whom we’ve already confirmed, we’re pleased to announce the following speakers are joining our esteemed lineup:
    ▪ Michele Titolo of michele.io
    ▪ Ash Furrow of ashfurrow.com
    ▪ Saul Mora of Coursera
    ▪ Sarah Allen of ultrasaurus.com

In other big news, we’re very happy to announce Google as our latest sponsor. They’re joining the likes of other fabulous community supporters such as FastSpring, CodePath, Raizlabs, Smile, and Sauce Labs. Many thanks to all of our sponsors for their gracious generosity. If you or your company are interested in sponsoring AltConf, please email sponsors at altconf.com.

Our Call for Speakers was briefly re-opened last week during the mad rush for WWDC tickets. We’ve collected over 150 submissions and a committee of four community members have been working hard to make a selection before the end of this week. Thank you very much to those of you who submitted a talk. Expect to hear from us soon!

If you’d like to participate in making this year’s AltConf the best event ever, we have plenty of volunteering opportunities which you can contribute to. Simply fill out this form to let us know your availability and we’d be glad to have you on board. Volunteers who donate at least two days of their time will receive guaranteed entry tickets.

As we get closer and closer to June, we hope you’re getting as excited as we are for AltConf 2015! See you all in six weeks!
